Quantum NanoElectronics Group

Our research interests are focused on the electrical and mechanical properties of structures with dimensions of a few nanometers, such as carbon nanotubes. These structures are so tiny that quantum effects start to play a dominant role. For e.g. the energy levels in the structures are quantized, just like in atoms and molecules. Interestingly, these structures are large and robust enough to be implemented in a variety of different microfabricated devices, which can be specifically designed to study the different properties of the structure. This enables a better understanding and controlling of the quantum properties of these structures.
